The Long Haul is a resource center and community space for radical grassroots activists. We provide an office/meeting space and a non-profit umbrella for a variety of projects/collectives, as well as hosting numerous social and political events. We also house the Infoshop, which is a combinartion lending library, computer room, activist reading room and social gathering space. Through these activities, and by networking with similar activist locally and around the world, we are building a movement for radical social change.
The Infoshop is an/activist reading room/social gathering space in front of the Long Haul. Anyone can come in and browse through our many periodicals, 'zines, phamplets, or books in our lending library in the back roonm. It is also a great place to meet and hang out with other people who envision a better world. The infoshop is also an information distribution center. Much of the literature, (including our own newspaper, Slingshot), is available for free. Flyers regarding current political events and left/alternative news are always posted on our front bulliten board and/or placed on the front desk for general distribution. A seperate bulliten board for public notices like lost and found, for sale, wanted, etc. is also avaiable in front of the Long Haul building.
We also have a computer room with a high speed, (DSL), internet connection for activist oriented access. The internet room currently has four computers and a laser printer which are avaiable during the regular Infoshop hours.
